RANCHO SANTA FE — Premiere Yacht Charters founder and Rancho Santa Fe resident Ken Manzoni was recently hired as marine coordinator by CBS for the filming of a “48 Hours” episode called “Black Wave.”
Based on the recently published book by fellow Rancho Santa Fe residents John and Jean Silverwood, the “48 Hours” episode recreates the Silverwoods’ nearly tragic story as they cruised around the world with their children. This episode is currently scheduled to air Feb. 28.
A few of Ken Manzoni/Premiere Yacht Charters’ other credits include “CSI: Miami,” “History vs. Hollywood” on The History Channel and several commercials.
Premiere Yacht Charters, a marine production support and on-the-water event management company, was founded by Manzoni, after working on the feature films “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “Master & Commander: The Far Side of the World.” Premiere Yacht Charters has also been requested to coordinate a number of corporate and private on-the-water events from company picnics to weddings, and so the company recently expanded its services beyond production support for film and television to include on-the-water event management.
Manzoni has more than 12 years professional marine production support and coordination experience in San Diego. He is a licensed 100 ton U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Captain and a championship sailor. In 2008, he was named Sailor of the Year by the Southwestern Yacht Club.
