OCEANSIDE — The Oceanside Yacht Club (OYC) hosted its 10th annual charity regatta to benefit The Elizabeth Hospice the weekend of Aug. 11.Three hundred community members and 13 racing boats participated in the event, raising more than $13,600. During the past 10 years, Elizabeth Hospice has been the sole recipient of the OYC regatta proceeds.Commodore Bill Roush said, “We were pleased to receive a great deal of support from the community through cash contributions and prizes donations for our raffle and auction. The weekend’s musical entertainment and beverages were also donated, allowing us to minimize expenses and donate a greater amount to The Elizabeth Hospice so they may help more patients and loved ones in need. OYC considers it a privilege to support The Elizabeth Hospice and believes that The Elizabeth Hospice is a blessing to our community.”

The Elizabeth Hospice has a 34-year tradition as the premier provider of medical, emotional and spiritual support to those with life limiting illness and their families. Since opening its doors, The Elizabeth Hospice has provided services to more than 83,000 patients and families in northern San Diego County neighborhoods regardless of their ability to pay.
