Workshop offers smorgasbord of art classes

ENCINITAS — A Visual Art workshop is being offered from the San Dieguito Art Guild, giving artists a chance to try out a variety of media from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Feb. 24 at the Ecke Building at San Diego Botanic Garden, 230 Quail Gardens Drive.
The cost is $20 for two 90-minute sessions.
Each instructor will have examples of finished pieces in their chosen medium, will give a short demo and provide materials. Students will work on a simple “make it and take it” project.
A list of stores and websites will be available where participants can purchase additional supplies and how much they can expect to spend. In addition, a list of where you can get additional training or lessons in the medium you like best will be available.
Students may choose two out of the eight classes offered. They include watercolor, jewelry-making, drawing, calligraphy, collage, monoprint with watermedia and acrylic pastel.
For class descriptions, list of instructors and instructions for signing up for the classes, visit www.OffTrackGallery.com. Space in each class is limited to eight students. This workshop is funded by the city of Encinitas Community Grant Program and the Mizel Foundation.
