Above, community member Carol Naylor reads with Olivenhain Pioneer Elementary School second-grader Tanner Knight as part of the Everyone A Reader tutorial program.
Olivenhain Pioneer Elementary School is seeking volunteer tutors for the program. No experience is necessary, just an enjoyment of reading and a desire to help children. The EAR program has continually received the Diamond Award for excellence from the San Diego County Office of Education. All tutors are trained by Olivenhain Pioneer reading consultant, Elaine Feuer-Barton.
Tutors work with individually with four students for 15 minutes per session and each session lasts about 90 minutes per week. New tutors will be trained in early September. For more information, contact Elaine Feuer-Barton at (760) 943-2027.
