Village businesses host open house

RANCHO SANTA FE — Three businesses in the center of the village held an Open House on April 22, to celebrate the shifting and expansion they’ve each undergone recently.
Courtney MacDonald moved Plume Fine Stationery and Gifts to much larger digs in the center of the village. Marilyn Mulloy Estate and Fine Jewelry moved from her larger store to the space once occupied by Plume Stationery, in the courtyard behind Willis Allen. To celebrate the new courtyard and changes to the exterior of The Pantry, executive chef and owner Daniel Bohlen participated in the Open House as well. Approximately 150 guests attended the festivities.
At Plume Fine Stationery and Gifts, Courtney MacDonald expanded the size of her store and the scope of the business, as well. “I brought in friends, experts in their own areas, and made it like a co-op,” she said. MacDonald expanded her stationary section, but brought in women and children’s clothing, gift items, paintings, photography, jewelry and other items. “It’s seamless shopping. I cross merchandise.”
MacDonald got the idea from her customers. “People from the Ranch came into the shop all the time and asked, ‘Do you know where I can get such and such?’ After you hear that enough, you
start to think, ‘hmmm,
maybe I should make that available.’”
For more information, MacDonald invites you to visit her store on Paseo Delicias or call (858) 756-4200. If she doesn’t have what you’re looking for in the store, she’ll point you in the right direction, or if you can wait, she’ll probably be carrying it in the store soon.
