“All the music, films and art showcased at Teen Scene was created by local teens between the ages of 13 and 19. The event fosters teen expression in a safe environment,” said Rachael Shay, special events supervisor for the city. “Past winners of the Battle of the Bands have gone on to open for major rock acts, play legendary venues and get airplay on local commercial radio stations, so it’s a pretty big deal, and a thrill to see the bands’ hard work pay off.”
