Tickets ready now for August film fest

OCEANSIDE — Movies have been selected and tickets are now available for the Oceanside International Film Festival held in August. Founded and again sponsored by Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation, OIFF’s parent entity, the festival showcases narrative features, documentaries, shorts, animation and student works from filmmakers who have not yet signed distribution agreements and look for recognition among wider audiences.This year, OIFF-2012 will use three venues downtown Oceanside — the Theater of Grace Chapel of The Coast (formerly Crest Theatre), the Star Theatre and the MediaTech Institute. OIFF-2012 opens at 5 p.m. Aug. 16, with a red-carpet reception at Star Theatre, 402 N. Coast Highway 101. Cost of admission includes:

— $25 for the red carpet welcome and opening evening

— $50 – regular festival pass

— $35 – senior, military, or student festival pass

— $15 – one-day regular admission

— $10 – one-day admission for seniors, military, students

— $10 – each workshop

— $35 – closing awards gala Aug. 19
