Theater blends love and laughter

CARLSBAD — For the fifth consecutive year, the Carlsbad Village Theatre will stage “My Funny Valentines” stand-up comedy show, which bills itself as having “three comedians with zero relationship expertise.” Bring your Valentine for some serious laughs at love at 8 p.m. Feb. 14 at the Carlsbad Village Theatre, 2822 State St.The show stars award-winning comedian, former San Diego resident and San Diego State alumni Lamont Ferguson. Ferguson, who began his career in San Diego at the World Famous Comedy Store, has appeared on Comedy Central, Comics Unleashed and the ABC Family Channel.

Also making her first appearance on the Carlsbad stage will be Ro DelleGrazie. The newly transplanted New Yorker brings her “tell it like it is” style to the stand-up stage.

The evening will be hosted by San Diego native and comedian Mark Fernandez. Fernandez who also began his career in San Diego now makes his home in Los Angeles.
