Texas slasher slices his own throat after sentencing

A Texan man who had pleaded guilty to a butcher knife attack on his niece slit his own throat — right in the courtroom — after hearing his sentence, reports The Dallas Morning News.

Judge Larry Mitchell had sentenced Marcial Anguiano to 40 years in prison when, said Anguiano’s attorney, “I saw him do something with his right arm.”

“I turned and he cut himself with something he had brought into the courtroom,” said Juan Sanchez, the defense lawyer.

Anguiano bled on the courtroom furniture, was rushed to a courthouse jail cell, and then was carried out on a stretcher, still able to talk.

Witnesses said Anguiano’s victim and her mother watched the incident unfold and left the courtroom in tears.
