RANCHO SANTA FE — On Monday night, firefighters from the Rancho Santa Fe Fire Protection District and Encinitas Fire Department responded to a report of a traffic collision near the corner of El Camino del Norte and Del Dios Highway in Rancho Santa Fe.

At 7:24 p.m., emergency officials arrived to find a solo vehicle that had gone off the roadway and into a tree. The engine crew quickly assessed the scene and found there was one occupant, a 17-year-old female, still trapped in the car.

Firefighters used eDRAULIC rescue tools to free her from the vehicle. The patient was transported to Palomar Medical Center’s Trauma Center. California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.
