Take a Creekwalk on Mother’s Day

VISTA — Picture mothers and their families strolling along the Vista Creekwalk, absorbing the artists’ creations while children paint at picnic tables. That’s a snapshot of Art at the Creekwalk from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mother’s Day, May 10.
Located next to the Wave Water Park near the Krikorian Theater, the outdoor show will showcase various forms of artwork, such as photography, jewelry and paintings. “Green” artist Dejana, who specializes in recycled creations, will lead children in a free art workshop, with supplies included.
Rancho Buena Vista Adobe, the Vista Art Foundation, and the Recreation and Community Services of the city of Vista sponsor the annual event.
In 2003, sculptor/civic activist Carole Lee envisioned an outdoor art show along the Creekwalk, and recruited fellow sculptor Charles Bronson to help launch the first event. In 2009, photographer Michael Doucette took the coordinator role. Doucette can be reached at (760) 224-8737 for more details.
