Swim schedules change at pool

CARLSBAD — Changes in the Carlsbad Monroe Street pool lap-swimming schedule can be found at www.carlsbadca.gov/services.
For those of you choosing to ride a bicycle to the pool, a new black bike rack has been installed just south of the main building. Riders can feel secure locking the bike to a solid object, no longer having to lug it in through the locker room to the deck.
In addition, it’s that time of year when the Carlsbad High School Boys and Girls Swim and Diving teams begin. Starting Feb. 22, once school lets out, the pool will be filled with a hundred or more skilled and motivated high school swimmers. That’s 10 or more swimmers per lane, which means that between 3 and 5 p.m. there will no lap-swim lanes available.
The Grand Opening dedication for the CHS football stadium will be held at 4 p.m. March 11 followed by a track meet Feb. 12. The area expects to be “parking challenged” immediately before, during, and right after the ceremonies.
