SWEET VICTORY

The Cathedral Catholic High School varsity girl’s soccer hosted and beat Saint Joseph with a score of 8 to 0 March 11, for the first round of CIF Southern California playoffs.

 

The team also won a third consecutive CIF Championship March 8, with a score of 2-0 over Scripps Ranch (20-3-4) at Mesa College. The first goal was scored by sophomore Audrey Hegardt and assisted by sophomore Olivia Erlbeck. Second goal was scored by junior Alyssa Fiddes and assisted by Kelsey Irwin, another junior. The Dons (23-2-3) are unbeaten in 19 straight games. In 16 years of coaching, Coach Lee has lead her varsity soccer team to 14 CIF finals and brought home the trophy 10 times. Lee, a Dons Alumni, was recently awarded the Positive Coaching Alliance’s Double Goal Coach award.
