OCEANSIDE — The third annual California Surf Festival presents the Grom Film Contest: Big Shorts From Little Groms. Winning films will be screened Oct. 10. Entry deadline is Sept. 30.
The California Surf Festival invites young filmmakers to submit a short film to the contest. It’s free to enter. The surfing and/or skateboarding film must be five minutes or less. Filmmakers must be 19 years old or younger.
Accepted films will be screened at the Sunshine Brooks Theater, 217 Coast Highway. The winning film will be in the bonus footage in next year’s TransWorld Surf movie, shown on transworldsurf.com, placed in the new TransWorld Surf “How To” mobile application, and featured in a write-up in TransWorld Surf magazine and web site. The filmmaker of the winning film will be a guest on Coté’s Cube and receive a prize pack of great surf goodies.
