CARLSBAD — Individuals aged 50 years and older can learn to master the Internet and other computer skills through summer classes at the city of Carlsbad Senior Center, 799 Pine Ave.
Classes will be held on weekdays in June, July and August, with both morning and afternoon sessions available.
Participants will learn to send e-mail with photo attachments, watch TV programs through a computer and use Microsoft Word to create letters and envelopes. Other classes include an introduction to social networking websites and communicating via web camera on Skype.
The center will also offer “Brain Fitness Programs,” which challenge participants with sight and sound memory stimulation designed to improve sight and memory skills.
Computer skills classes cost $56 for registered members, and $66 for non-registered members. The “Brain Fitness Program” costs $100 for registered members, and $110 for non-registered members.
