ENCINITAS — Join Mayor Teresa Barth for her State of the City address from 5 to 8 p.m. April 5 at the Community Center, 1140 Oakcrest Park Drive. Tickets are $20 and drinks and appetizers will be served. The event is presented by the Encinitas Chamber of Commerce, Leucadia 101 Main Street, Encinitas 101 MainStreet and Cardiff 101 Main Street. Residents can also support The Friends of Cardiff and Carlsbad State Beaches (FCCSB) by becoming an Adopt-A-Stairway sponsor by donating funds or materials. You can contribute through the park’s non-profit association with cash at the entrance kiosk or by credit card/PayPal at the FCCSB Web site. These repairs are being completed through donations of time by local licensed contractors.
Repairs to the beach-access stairways throughout 2013 will result in some temporary closings. FCCSB will try to give notice of stairway closing dates.
