Shopping event supports Walk for the Cure

CARLSBAD — Shelleen, Amy Benoit, Connie Kelley, Kim Collings and Brie Cardosa make up the team Powered by Optimism. The group is hosting a Girls Night Out … Girls Gone Shopping Party gearing up for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk For the Cure. The shopping fundraiser will be from 5 to 9 p.m. April 28 at the Sheraton Grand Resort & Spa, 5480 Grand Pacific Drive in Carlsbad.
The first 200 guests will receive a Girls Gone Shopping Walk For the Cure tote-bag filled with goodies. The event will include 38 vendors with clothing, purses, jeans, boutique jewelry, home decor items, and other fun, artsy items.
To pamper attendees, there will be chair massages, eyebrow waxing, nail polish changes and possible additional mini spa treatments. There will also be raffle prizes and music by Michael Tiernan and Xtreme Fun DJ.
Tickets the night of the event will be $25, or presale for $20. This is the second year Powered by Optimism will be participating in the 3-Day Walk. Last year the team raised $56,000 directly donated to the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk For the Cure.
