SDG&E workshop held next week

REGION — The California Public Utilities Commission will host a workshop to educate the public on proposed rate changes from SDG&E.

The workshop will also allow the public to comment on the proposed changes.

The North County dates are:

  • June 1, 2015, 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.

California Center for the Arts, Conference Center, Salon 1 Room, 340 North Escondido Blvd., Escondido, CA 92025

  • June 2, 2015, 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Oceanside Public Library, Civic Center Library Community Room, 330 North Coast Highway, Oceanside, CA 92054

SDG&E officials are applying to increase their revenue requirement $111 million to $1.905 billion.

According to SDG&E, when the impact of commodity costs and other accounting adjustments are included, the increases actually result in a monthly bill decrease of 53 cents (-0.5 percent) for a typical residential electric customer, and a monthly bill decrease of 38 cents (-0.9 percent) for a typical residential gas customer, as compared to the 2015 bill.

The CPUC won’t make a decision until January.
