ENCINITAS — The San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy is accepting applications for docent training from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 6, Oct. 13, Oct. 20 and Oct. 27 and Nov. 3, Nov. 10 and Nov. 17 at the San Elijo Lagoon Nature Center, 2710 Manchester Ave.
Docent work is an opportunity for community members to learn about the flora and fauna of the region and to be able to share that knowledge with others as a trained naturalist. The fee for docent training, to cover cost of materials, is $70 for Conservancy members and $100 for nonmembers (which includes membership).
