Brooklyn O’Neill, 14, an eighth-grader at Aviara Oaks Middle School, has been named a first-team Pop Warner All-American Scholar. O’Neill, a Carlsbad Pop Warner cheerleader for six year, is one of only 35 cheerleaders out of 9,700 applicants nationwide to receive this honor in 2011. She will be recognized at a May 28 Pop Warner Scholastic Banquet in Chicago. The award includes a monetary scholarship.
