Pop-up art gallery coming to Carlsbad

CARLSBAD — The “10Hr Art Gallery” returns to the Carlsbad Village June 26, to support the arts, and present the exhibition of “Hope for the Future” from 1 to 7 p.m. for a week, at 300 Carlsbad Village Blvd., Suite 118.The public is also invited to an art reception 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 28 to coincide with the Carlsbad Village Association’s monthly Thursdays on the Coast event. Local vendors and galleries in the Village of Carlsbad will share receptions and music in a self guided art walking tour, free to the public.

“The 10Hr Art Gallery” is a pop-up gallery that will occupy an empty business space, sponsored by the Village Faires’ management, SIMA. It will host 10 local artists, for five days, from June 26 to June 30. The area artists will unite in support of two North County organizations that provide service to underserved communities using art programs as communication mechanisms. All the artists will bring a variety of art, paintings, photography, jewelry and 3-D artworks into the gallery and the exhibit will provide a glimpse into the world of artists who share in the vision of “hope for the future.”

The youth and adult art participants in the Training, Education & Research Institute (TERI) Center for the Arts & Adult Education serve adults with autism and other intellectual disabilities and The Stardust Arts, a non-profit organization, recognized by the California State Assembly, provides underserved youth with an art education.

TERI’s Arts Program Coordinator, Greg Snaer, will be selecting pieces of art depicting a broad spectrum of talent from the Art Studios artists, that is expressive and often collaborative. The display hopes to communicate TERI’s mission, “We believe every individual with autism and other developmental and learning disabilities has the right to lead a valued, meaningful and fulfilling life of uncompromised quality in their community.” For more information contact, Greg Snaer at (760) 801-4992 or e-mail
