Carlsbad police make arrest in homicide

CARLSBAD — Police arrested 39-year-old Julie Harper on homicide charges Wednesday in San Diego following a search for her since Tuesday night and will be booked into the Vista Detention Facility.

On Tuesday, police were called to the home in the 2400 block of Badger Lane at 11:06 p.m. to perform a welfare check. At 11:16 p.m., the responding officer found a deceased white male adult at the address and began a homicide investigation, according to Jodee Sasway, public information officer.

The body was later taken to the medical examiner’s office Wednesday morning for further investigation and identification.

Carlsbad Police began searching for Harper, a resident of the home, and her three juvenile children. Her three children were found unharmed with Harper. The children are in the custody of the Carlsbad Police.
