Playreaders visit “Coopertown”

CARLSBAD — It’s off to the ball park with the Carlsbad Playreaders and San Diego playwright Tim West’s “Cooperstown,” directed by Stephen Metcalfe, at 7:30 p.m. April 13.
The performance takes place at Ruby G. Schulman Auditorium at Carlsbad City Library, 1775 Dove Lane. Donations are taken at the door; there are no advance reservations. “Cooperstown” features Tom Andrew as Steve, Amanda Cooley Davis as Beth, Dave Kurner as Pop and Max Oilman-Williams as Michael.
In “Cooperstown,” father and son, a retired ballplayer and a struggling writer, make a difficult but rewarding journey together to the sleepy village in upstate New York and its national baseball shrine.
