Anabell Marshall was recently awarded the Woman’s Opportunity Award, a $500 scholarship award provided by the Fallbrook Soroptimist group. In addition to being a student in a medical assistant program, Marshall is a single parent who is also taking care of two aging parents. After being laid off during the construction decline in December 2008, Marshall returned to school and switched careers from construction to medical. She completed a pharmacy technician program at an R.O.P. program and began working at Vista Community Clinic. She is currently enrolled in a medical assistant training program. Courtesy photo
