VISTA — San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department Vista station are asking for assistance from the public in identifying a parolee wanted for assault and indecent exposure.
Andres Hernandez Camarena was driving on the 400 block of Massachusetts Avenue in Vista when he contacted two teenage females (ages 15 and 17) who were walking together on Sept. 12 at about 7:40 p.m. He told the girls that he was lost and asked them for directions while masturbating in his vehicle. One of the girls used her cellular telephone to photograph the rear license plate. Hernandez put the vehicle in reverse and accelerated rapidly towards the girl in an apparent attempt to run her over. Both girls were unharmed.
Camarena was paroled from state prison on Sept. 11. He knows he is wanted and has removed his GPS device. His original commitment offense was rape.
Camarena is a Hispanic male born Sept. 15, 1974. He is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 175 pounds. Camarena has black hair and brown eyes. He also has various tattoos on his body.
