Hogan was selected because of her investigative efforts while assigned to the School Safety Enhancement Team and for the significant role she played in interviewing several key witnesses and victims involved in an assault case that led to the identification of several suspects who had attacked several students.

Additionally, Officer Hogan’s rapport and knowledge of these suspect led to their arrest and subsequent confessions. During the first quarter of 2012, Officer Hogan took it upon herself to follow up on numerous graffiti vandalism cases. These efforts resulted in the identification and arrests of nine repeat offenders and the closure of more than 90 graffiti investigations that totaled more than $50,000 in damages.

The Commander of the Field Operation Division, Capt. Tom Aguigui said in his letter announcing the award, “Your efforts and accomplishments over such a short period of time truly showcase your proactive work ethic and genuine commitment to the safety and image of the city of Oceanside.”

The Officer of the Quarter award recognizes police department employees who have provided exemplary service to the community or performed in a manner worthy of recognition.

Officer Hogan is a five-year veteran of the Oceanside Police Department. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and French, a Masters in Forensic Science and her K-12 Teaching Credential.
