Oceanside Days of Art seeking volunteers

OCEANSIDE — The Oceanside Days of Art Committee Chairmen are gathering creative minds and talented local community volunteers Nov. 3 to start planning the 17th ODA for 2009. 
The event will be held April 19 and April 20 on Pier View Way, in the Civic Center fountain area and Ditmar Street. Artists from as far away as Big Bear and Los Angeles area come to display their art along with a list of live performers. In addition, the local high schools display their art for two weeks before the event and during the two days of ODA.
The committee positions that will be available for a chairman are as follows:
 — Volunteer Chairman: Organize the students and adults in all areas of helping the event run smoothly.
 — Food Vendor Chairman: Acquire food vendors to set up and sell their food during the two-day event. Adhere to San Diego County Health rules and regulations and make sure the vendors have all the necessary permits and licenses.
 — Sponsor Chairman: Get donations from local businesses to advertise for our Event Brochure, raising funds to help support the Days of Art.
 — Computer Graphic Chairman: Create all graphics needed to produce the brochure, signs and other graphics.
 — Program Organizer: Secure a printer for the publishing of the brochure, gather all ads needed, and all information to create the brochure used during the Days of Art.
 — Rental Chairman: Organizing all equipment needed for the two-day event; getting tables, stages, and chairs for set up and take down.
 — Security Chairman: Set up security volunteers to man each entrance; acquire radios needed for communication; assign volunteers with traffic control for artists and parking; get permit from city.
