November fun at Weidner’s Gardens

ENCINITAS — Weidners Gardens will host several gardening events during the month of November.
On Nov. 1, Pansymonium starts at 9 a.m. with a selection of 16,000 dig-your-own pansies in full bloom and bud. One half of the pansy field opens for digging on Nov. 1, with the second half opening Nov. 2. Every color and every size is available. Digging continues through Dec. 22. Pick your own free pansy bouquet or dry you own pansies. You pick your own blooms out of the field. Bring scissors and a water bottle to hold your pansy blooms.
Free semi-diluted Weidners Good Stuff fertilizer will be available starting Nov. 6 through Nov. 14. Bring your own empty one-gallon bottle.
Nov. 6 will feature two free 30-minute talks at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on make a Fairy Garden. Immediately after are $10 plus materials workshops that start at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., taught by Evelyn Weidner. To reserve a spot, call (760) 436-2194 or e-mail [email protected].
At 10 a.m. Nov. 13, hear guest speaker and fruit tree expert Tom Spellman speak on backyard orchards and the right tree for your location. There will be free hot dogs and drinks from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
On Nov. 20, Weidner’s presents Behind the Scenes Poinsettia Tours on the hour from 10 a.m. through 3 p.m. No tour at noon. Reservations are advised. Visit www.weidners.com for more information.
