NHCP to hold ceremony for MIA warriors and POWs

CAMP PENDLETON — Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton will hold its 21st annual Prisoner of War/Missing in Action Remembrance Ceremony at 10 a.m. Sept. 16. The event is open to the public and will be held on the front lawn of the hospital at the POW/MIA memorial site.
Mr. Larry Cilestio will be this year’s guest speaker. Cilestio, originally from the Philadelphia area, joined the Army Air Corps Aviation Cadet Program at the age of 17. He was assigned to the 15th Air Force in Italy where he flew bombing missions over Germany and Austria in a B-24 Liberator Bomber. During one of the missions he was shot down over Hungary and became a prisoner of war.
