ENCINITAS — The Leucadia 101 Main Street presents Summer Fun on the 101, the Leucadia Music Festival June 27 and June 28.
Festivities will kick off at 4 p.m. June 27 with “Support Local Business Night.” There will be an art show by this year’s poster artist, Harry Holiday at Ducky Waddle’s, 414 N. Coast Highway 101. Live music, including local song writer Jack Tempchin, Amerikan Bear, the Village Squares, Darius Degher, Cleopatar Degher, Mattson 2, Nena Anderson, Montalban Quintet and more bands will be rocking out in front of 454 Tattoo, Lou’s Records, Coastal Animal Hospital and Ducky Waddle’s. There is no fee for admission.
On June 28, things kick off with a beach clean up led by Eco-Rooted. Join them to comb trash from Moonlight Beach to Beacon’s Beach. The beach cleanup will start at 11:30 a.m. at the big palm tree at Moonlight beach and will end at Beacon’s — a short walk down the hill from the main event at Leucadia Roadside Park, 860 N. Coast Highway 101. Free music will start at the park at noon and carry on until 8 p.m.
The event will include a beer garden, silent auction and raffle with prizes from local merchants and art activities for the children by Paint Encinitas.
Inspired by the young Encinitas talent at the Battle of the Bands in May, the Leucadia 101 Main Street Board is working with the Paul Ecke Central PTA to donate a percentage of the proceeds toward music education programs. Catch both of this year’s Battle winners, Don’t Tell Mom, at Roadside Park and Triceratropical at Lou’s Records.
