Museum welcomes mom of ‘Soul Surfer’

OCEANSIDE — The California Surf Museum will host Cheri Hamilton with daughter Bethany for the signing of her book “Raising a Soul Surfer,” from 2 to 4 p.m. July 7 in the museum lobby, 312 Pier View Way.In addition, exhibits currently on display for the summer at the California Surf Museum include:

— “A Brief History of Surfboards”

— “Courageous Inspiration”: Bethany Hamilton

— “My Oceanside”: Photographs by Aaron Checkwood

— “Need for Speed”: Downhill Skateboarding at Signal Hill

— Aaron Chang: Water Housings and Cameras

— “The Secret Spot”

Membership dues go to supporting the California Surf Museum in its tasks of archiving its distinctive heritage, preserving its culture and obtaining new acquisitions to increase the value and quality of its collections.

Admission is free for CSM members, $5 general, $3 student/military/senior, children 12 and under free, plus free admission on Tuesdays.
