Medical Society prepares to install new president

COAST CITIES — Robert E. Wailes, board certified in anesthesia and pain medicine, will be installed as the new president of the San Diego County Medical Society at the White Coat Gala at 6 p.m. June 4 at the Hilton Torrey Pines Resort. Wailes maintains offices in Encinitas and Oceanside, and is a Carlsbad resident.
Rancho Santa Fe resident Renee’ Schatz is chairing the White Coat Gala. Kimberly Hunt, KGTV 10News anchor, is the Mistress of Ceremonies, and music will be provided by Haute Chile. A silent auction will feature vacation getaways and priceless collectables.
The gala will benefit the San Diego County Medical Society Foundation’s Project Access San Diego, which assists uninsured adults to receive specialty medical care.
Since the program’s inception in 2008, more than 960 patients have received specialty care appointments, procedures and surgeries. More than 500 area physicians have volunteered services to patients, with physicians, health professionals, area hospitals and surgical centers donating more than $3 million in services.
