ENCINITAS — Make your own decorative poinsettias and learn how the poinsettia was cultivated, from noon to 4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday in December at the San Dieguito Heritage Museum, 450 Quail Gardens Drive.Learn about Encinitas’ own Ecke Ranch and how the Ecke family made the poinsettia flower a Christmas icon all over the world. Then create poinsettia holiday decorations for your tree and your home that are suitable for all ages. Make a construction paper poinsettia, a “stained-glass” poinsettia, a tissue-paper poinsettias or pipe-cleaner poinsettias.
