COAST CITIES — David W. Roberts is the charter president of the new 34-member Del Sol Lions Club. The 34 members have chartered this newest Lions Club for the Del Mar/Solana Beach/Carmel Valley/Rancho Santa Fe/Fairbanks Ranch areas.
Lions Club International is a service club organization that serves those less fortunate locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. Some of the new members include Brian Sciutto from Opes Advisors who is the vice president; Mary Jane Boyd, the club’s secretary; Bulent Erol from LHD Insurance Services as membership director; plus Fundraising Specialist Craig Garcia who is the tail twister and John Page who is treasurer. Linette Page is a new board member focused on organizing the club’s charity work. Solana Beach Councilman Joe Kellejian and his wife Mary are charter members of the club and charity event producer David Mirisch is both a charter member and serving as pro-bono outside event consultant.
The new Del Sol Lions Club meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at Sam’s Place Restaurant at 141 Lomas Santa Fe Drive in Solana Beach. There will be a networking dinner from 5 to 6 p.m. and a meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. wherein the club plans service projects, conduct business, and listens to relevant presentations on community needs.
Lions Club membership is open to all. To be a member, contact Bulent Erol prior to 7 p.m. April 24. It is $30 to be a charter member and annual dues are $85 for the first household member and $65 for all other household members that choose to join.
