More going on than just Hall property
It truly amazes me that with all that is going on in Encinitas and the state that a candidate like Dan Dalager can only focus on one issue. The Hall property will be built when we have the money and there will be fields for the kids to play. It is kind of disingenuous to make it sound like this is a hot issue, when it is not. Especially when there were other ideas for more playing fields brought up in the past and Dan was so
against them … got to keep that campaign issue alive.
During the last election, I spoke with people in the community who had children that played sports. I asked them if they would like 90-foot lights behind their property and not one person said yes.
Now, the people in the community of Cardiff are made to sound like the bad guys because they are trying to protect their views, quality of life and property values. Wouldn’t anyone?
It’s time to talk about all the issues. I am supporting Teresa Barth and Tony Kranz because they know the issues and they listen to the entire community.

Low-income housing doesn’t fit at Fletcher Cove
While we agree that the city of Solana Beach does need low-income housing, we can’t imagine a worse place for it to be put! This area, right across from Fletcher Cove, should be occupied with high-end housing. It’s one of the choicest areas in the city. People pay millions for homes this close to the beach. Why put low-income apartments there? Why?
What kind of a face do we want for Solana Beach? South Sierra Street near the Post Office needs to be totally cleaned up. The trailer park needs to be cleared off and the little apartments on the east side of Sierra also need to go. We could use more high-end shops or more high-end condos in that area. Or even just more parking for the beach. Don’t destroy the quality of our city.

The Hall Property stadium sounds like an example of "state art" on the scale of Versailles or more recently, Saadam Hussein’s many "Palaces" featuring art work of himself. These ridiculous displays of ego have nothing to do with benefit to the public as much as the egos of the men linked to them. How is it a good idea to build something that huge which will create traffic and noise nightmares for all who live close? I hope Danny’s name IS linked with this mistake!

Scum?
Barth cares about the ‘Whole’ Community?
Barth’s 2 soul sisters are the only local politicians that have been convicted of anything: Margaret Houlihan convicted of 70 counts by the Fair Political Practices Commission. Pam Slater was just popped for a couple of grand for a series of illegal missteps. Both carried out their crimes knowingly.
You combine their missteps with the ridiculousness of the harassment charges, and then Barth’s complete denial of having instigated the complaint and the two sides of the political spectrum look pretty evenly balanced to neutral parties.
Neither sides hands are clean.
The fact that Kranz has a blank political resume is appealing; but claiming that Kranz isn’t a puppet for Barth and Houlihan will not play in the public.
They are always seen together.

And. Dalager wants taxpayers to pay $100mil for his regional Sports Park and Stadium lights, but wants to have the taxpayers raise money on their own if they want a dog park on his sports fields.

Morggan lies August 20, 2010 at 10:54 pm

Morggan is so BS. Rachelle is too good for the current scum in Encinitas politics. She never lied. You are about as off base as the former crooked Chamber of Commerce losers who were also pawns for developers and unions. Just like Dalager. Vote for anyone but Dalager in the next election. Incumbents caused this mess. Now its up to us to correct it.

Encinitas is good. August 20, 2010 at 10:49 pm

Dalager is all about ego and cares nothing about the future good for encinitas citizens or your kids future. He wants this huge regional sports complex built completely with encinitas tax dollars. What a fool. Vote for anyone but Dalager in the next election

Collier is a sock puppet for Barth? Collier got caught lying about her own campaign in 2008 and now she is throwing stones, hearsay stones, from inside her glass house at Dalager.
She should run again rather than carrying water for Barth. Rachelle is a much better candidate than Ms. Barth.

Why the deceit? August 20, 2010 at 5:18 pm

I have, in my hand, a notice from the city that Dalager directed to be sent to citizens that states that the Planning Commission approved the Hall Enviornmental Report.
He knows that is not true. The Planning Commission recommended to reduce the fields by one or two, because that is what the majority of the community wanted. They also recommended to solve major traffic issues identified in the EIR. Dalager directed Park and Rec. to challenge their findings. Then Dalager and the boys voted 3-2 to ignore the planning Commission’s findings. He, of course, knew this and chose to deceive in order to force the regional sports fields on the community.

Not what we want August 20, 2010 at 1:55 pm

Mrs. Collier’s letter is appropriate. Mr Dalager has put his personal wishes above the community’s. We would have a community park built now if he had not been uncompromising. The delays he has caused have cost taxpayers many millions of dollars with nothing to show for it.
He will still ignore the public majority in order to build his regional sports park with stadium lights up to nine stories high. This stadium light proposal violates 40% of the goals of the Citizen’s General Plan Vision Goals.

Not what we want August 20, 2010 at 9:49 am

I completely agree. Dalager has ignored the public’s wishes concerning the Hall Park. Public surveys, comments and the Planning Commission all agree that the taxpayers do not want the regional sports complex with nine story stadium lights equal to half the Rose Bowl in our community. The citizens are very clear in their objection to Dalagers’ plan in the Vision General Plan Update. This plan violates 40% of the citizen’s goals for the future. He is, again, showing that he does not care what the majority wants. What is worse is that we would have a park for kids and citizens built now and saved many millions of dollars if he would listen to the community.
