OCEANSIDE — The Oceanside Parks & Recreation Division in conjunction with the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition will be offering a “Bicycle Traffic Skills 101” class this winter. Each class consists of two days — Friday from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is designed for ages 14 and up. This safety program will cover the basics of bicycle fitness, maintenance, traffic laws, hazards and how to avoid them, transporting items on your bike, and general information to keep bicyclist safe and comfortable on the road
This program is taught by League of American Bicyclist certified instructors. The dates this program will be held are Jan. 9 and Jan. 10, Feb. 27 and Feb. 28 and March 27 and March 28. The classes will be held at the Community Room, next to the Library at 330 N. Coast Highway.
Pre-registration is required no later than the Wednesday before the class is offered. A $65 check may be made payable to the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition and mailed to SD County Bicycle Coalition at P.O. Box 34544, San Diego, CA 92163. Participants may register on-line at www.sdcbc.org.
