CARLSBAD — The League of Women Voters North Coast is hosting its annual theater party fundraiser with a performance of the play “The Heidi Chronicles” at 1 p.m. April 25 at the New Village Arts Theatre, 2787 B State St., which is open to the public. The social hour starts at 1 p.m. and the tickets include hearty appetizers and refreshments. The performance begins at 2 p.m.
Tickets, which include refreshments, cost $40 for supporter seating and $75 for reserved seating. A raffle for local gifts and services will be held, with 10 raffle tickets for $20. “The Heidi Chronicles” by Wendy Wasserstein, is about an art historian navigating her way through the turbulent women’s rights movement throughout the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, often with humorous results. The League of Women Voters in a nonprofit and nonpartisan grassroots organization, which devotes its energy and funds to voter service and citizen education.
