Investigators treating Oceanside deaths as homicide

OCEANSIDE — At approximately 10 p.m. Wednesday, Oceanside Police Officers responded to a home in the 300 block of Horizon Lane to check the welfare of a female resident. Officers were unable to make contact with anyone at the home. Based on additional information, officers determined exigent circumstances existed and entered the home. Once inside, the bodies of two subjects, an adult male and adult female, were discovered. The manner of death has not been determined. An investigation is on-going. Detectives have been called out to the scene.

The identities of the deceased persons in the residence have not yet been confirmed. They are an Asian male and an Asian female and appear to be in their 50’s or 60’s. Both suffered obvious trauma. Both had been shot with a firearm. A firearm was recovered at the scene. No outstanding suspects are being sought at this time.

The investigation is being treated as a homicide. Whether the incident is a murder/suicide or double homicide has not yet been determined.
