SOLANA BEACH — In an effort to accelerate construction of some critical underground work that is being installed as part of the Highway 101 improvement project, and to improve access to the businesses within the construction zone, the contractor was authorized to extend the work hours until 9 p.m. for three nights next week.
This limited additional work will take place on the evenings of Dec. 10, Dec. 11, and Dec. 12.
The normal work hours for the project are 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. During the evening work, the contractor will extend the workday to 9 p.m.
This extended work schedule was authorized to speed up construction and allow the contractor to complete the underground work between Plaza and Estrella. The extended work schedule will also accelerate preparation of the construction zone for vehicular access from Highway 101 to the adjacent properties, which should help businesses during the busy holiday shopping season.
