Community News Old - DO NOT USE - The Coast News Rancho Santa Fe

Boy Scout Bryan Jung of Encinitas was applauded by St. John School Principal Barbara Picco and Father Joseph Freeman while getting help from some of St. John School’s third-graders, as he completed a raised-bed garden to feed the hungry. Jung took this on as his Eagle Scout project, with the help of the third graders from St. John’s School. Jung and the students plant, weed and harvest the gardens with the produce going to St. John’s Food Pantry that feeds the local needy and homeless. The students will be learning the science of growing food, and demonstrating the Corporal Work of Mercy, “Feed the Hungry.” Jung, a St. John’s parishoner and San Dieguito Academy student, will soon earn his Eagle Scout badge.
