CARLSBAD — The Body and Soul Foundation is hosting a Halloween Fun Run to promote awareness and prevention of childhood obesity from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 25 at Pure Fitness, 6215 El Camino Real. Youngsters between the ages of 2 and 12 are invited to come in costume and run a course ranging from 200 yards to one mile, depending on the age of the participant. Activities will include an obstacle course provided by Velocity Sport, entertainment, appearances by local celebrities and a health and nutrition expo.
Proceeds from this event will benefit The Body and Soul Foundation in conjunction with the Coalition of Children and Weight of San Diego to raise awareness of the importance of leading healthy balanced lives.
As a healthy alternative to the usual candy-focused trick or treat activities, help fight the battle against childhood obesity and help get children moving. For more information about the event or to register or volunteer, visit www.bodyandsoulfoundation.org.
