Encinitas rocks Classic Car nights

ENCINITAS — Again from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 16, The Downtown Encinitas MainStreet Association (DEMA) will continue the celebration of summer with its 14th Annual Encinitas Classic Car Nights, the third of four in the summer series. The series features car clubs hosted at numerous dedicated lots and classic vehicles parked curbside along Highway 101.The lead sponsors for August, Encinitas Foreign & Domestic Auto Repair and Rancho Auto Body, will be hosting a club in the SMOG Test Only lot at F Street. Charlie’s Foreign Car at F Street and Cardiff Classics at I Street, will be hosting clubs in their lots and the newly-opened Encinitas Pizza Company will be sponsoring a club at the Sofspra car wash lot at G Street. There will also be hosted clubs in several other lots throughout Downtown Encinitas.

What better way to complement these remarkable cars than with classic 1950’s and 1960’s tunes … at three venues. Band of Jimmys will be playing at the SMOG Test Only lot, The Retro Rocketts will be rocking the Lumberyard Courtyard and DJ Wildman Will is spinning oldies at Cardiff Classics.

At the end of the night there will be an award ceremony at the SMOG Test Only lot and every car in attendance is eligible for an award. Complete the night by dining at one of the superb restaurants and perusing the unique shops in downtown Encinitas.

Are you a classic car owner? Then look for the special “Recommended Parking for Classic Cars” signs along the 101 and park your beauty in one of these prime curbside spots. This all-ages event is open and free to the public and there is no cost to display or view the cars.
