Encinitas Elks hold three-day Hootenanny

CARDIFF-BY-THE-SEA — The Encinitas Elks Lodge invites the whole family for three days of fun at its Community Hootenanny from 5 to 11 p.m. July 9, noon to 11 p.m. July 10 and noon to 7 p.m. July 11 at 1393 Windsor Road, with great food, games, raffles, activities and music. Funds from the annual event will benefit the North County Parkinson’s Support Group programs and services and local programs for Encinitas homeless, and active military heroes lunches.
Featured events include an antique woody car show, line and square dancing, blues jazz, and swing band, Irish jigs, a step back to the days of Sinatra performances, Hula troops, barbershop quartets, dancers, a trio of performers known as the Comedy Store and more.
On July 10 there will be a special performance by the Newport Beach 40-piece Golden West Pops Orchestra.
Families can also enjoy some home-cooked meals included each day with ticket purchase. A three-day pass is $30 for adults and $15 for 7- to 12-year-olds. Children under 6 are free. A one-day pass July 9 is $14 for adults and $7 for 7- to 12-year-olds. A one-day pass July 10 is $8 with 7- to 12-year-olds $4. The one-day pass for July 11 is $14 for adults and $7 for 7- to 12-year-olds.
On July 9 from 5 to 8 p.m. enjoy a steak fry dinner with corn on the cob, potatoes, a roll and butter. July 10 will be an all-you-can-eat Penne and Pasta dinner from 4 to 8 p.m., and on July 11, the Elks will serve an open-pit beef barbecue with beans, and the works.
Parking shuttles from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 10 and July 11 only will be offered to the Elks Lodge from the Park and Ride on Villa Cardiff Drive in Cardiff, Ada Harris Elementary School on Windsor Road, and at San Dieguito Academy on Santa Fe Drive in Encinitas.
