Del Mar hosts The Offspring for 4 O’clock Friday

DEL MAR — The Del Mar Racetrack may be nearing the mid-season mark, but the family thrills are far from over. 4 O’clock Fridays can be an after-work favorite, with The Offspring lighting up the Seaside Stage Aug. 10. This weekend’s events include:— 4 O’Clock Fridays with The Offspring Aug. 10 – Punk band The Offspring is sure to get music lovers rocking when they take to the Seaside Stage to perform for another 4 O’clock Friday at Del Mar.

— Daybreak at Del Mar – Aug. 11 – Early birds have the opportunity to watch morning workouts and enjoy breakfast in the Clubhouse Terrace Restaurant every Saturday and Sunday throughout the season at Del Mar. Race fans will receive racing tips from former jockey Jeff Bloom, and will get an insider’s look at the horses’ morning warm-ups, all while enjoying classic breakfast favorites from the buffet. Breakfast is available from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. for just under $10.

— Family Weekend and Blanket Giveaway – Aug. 11 –Kids will love exploring all the free activities offered in the infield during the weekends, from inflatable rides and games to magic shows and obstacle courses. Aug. 11 only, each family will also receive a free Del Mar blanket as they walk through the gates.

Racing at Del Mar happens Wednesdays through Sundays, with post time for the first race on most days at 2 p.m. On Fridays, first post is at 4 p.m. There will be a special Monday racing card on Labor Day, Sept. 3.
