DEL MAR — The North American Riders Group (NARG) rated its Top 25 horse shows for the third year and two Del Mar events scored in the top 11 events, with scores of 80 percent or higher.The Del Mar Fall Festival rated fifth. The equestrian event, now renamed the Del Mar International Horse Show, will be at Del Mar Oct. 16 through Oct. 20 with the Del Mar International Welcome Week, followed by the Del Mar International Horse Show Oct. 23 through Oct. 27 with the Rancho Valencia World Cup Grand Prix of Del Mar.
The Del Mar National Horse Show came in ninth. This year’s event is set for
April 18 through May 5, with Western Week April 18 through April 21, Dressage Week April 25 through April 28 and Hunter/Jumper Week April 30 through May 5.
The top spot this year went to the Spruce Meadows show in Canada. NARG has volunteers, who invest hundreds of hours each year to numerically evaluate 50 of the top horse shows in North America.
