DAR celebrates Flag Day in style

COAST CITIES — Members of the Santa Margarita Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), joined other county chapters to celebrate Flag Day June 14 on the USS Midway Museum Wanda Prosser, a member of Oceanside’s Santa Margarita Chapter. A large Betsy Ross flag made by De Anza Chapter member, Cheryl Reynolds, acted as a backdrop for the festivities.
The Red, White and Blue Society, C.A.R., sponsored by Vista’s Rancho Buena Vista Chapter, built a Betsy Ross Flag explaining what the various parts of the flag meant.
Betsy Ross, portrayed by Cheyenne McCarthy, presented a U.S. Flag to DAR Regent Sandy Bill, who then presented it to Mac MacLaughlin, president of the Midway Museum.
