Dancers kick it up for homeless teens

COAST CITIES — Local dance instructor Christopher Estrella, director and founder of CStar Productionz, has North County dancers busy rehearsing for a Dance Showcase from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Feb. 12, at the UCSD Mandeville Auditorium, 9500 Gillman Drive, La Jolla. The performance will benefit homeless teenagers. Estrella teaches dance classes on the beach in Del Mar.
CStar Productionz annual dance showcase “ALL4U” will feature different styles of dance from lyrical, to modern, to jazz, and hip hop. This year’s special feature is a masquerade ball.
Jeffry Sitcov, founder of Photocharity, which benefits homelss teens in San Diego, is trying to raise funds for his latest project “House of Hope,” a home for homeless young adults ages 18 to 24. Currently there is no facility for this age group in San Diego, and there is an estimated 5,000 of these young people sleeping on the street every night. The “ALL4U” dance showcase will donate a portion of its proceeds to help build this home where they will receive shelter and learn job life skills that were not previously acquired. For tickets, call the UCSD box office at (858) 534-TIXS, or visit www.cstarproductionz.com.
