Cook it up this summer

SOLANA BEACH — Local, seasonal and delicious summer fun is happening at The Center for a Healthy Lifestyle, held at the Harper Branch Boys and Girls Club, 533 Lomas Santa Fe Drive in Solana Beach.With the Boys and Girls Club sharing its kitchen space, adults can choose among Carlsbad resident Phyllis Carey’s cooking classes and also learn about Iraqi cuisine. Young cooks can enroll in Brunch Café or Pizza Place, held on Saturdays from July 14 to Aug.18.

The Center also teaches free and reduced-cost classes to children on a grant or scholarship basis. Take a class, host a party or even just drop a donation into the green watering can and help your community and the planet. The Center for a Healthy Lifestyle is a non-profit organization with the mission to encourage children and adults to make good decisions for their own health and the well-being of the planet.
