Coastal artists featured at Mexican/Southwest artisan market

ENCINITAS — Come support North Coast’s local artists and small business in downtown Encinitas at the second Artisan Market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 30 at Coast Hwy Traders, 530 S. Coast Highway 101. This market of specially selected wares will feature vintage Mexican furniture, textiles, ceramics, jewelry, a local southwest jewelry artist and handcrafted Mexican pottery.The Artisan Market will be a monthly event at Coast Hwy Traders. This Mexican/Southwest collection of goods welcomes artist Claudia with vintage Mexican furniture, textiles, jewelry and more along with Linda Deremo, a local southwest jewelry artist. Her jewelry is handcrafted from high-quality natural gemstones like turquoise, coral, spiny oyster, lapis and fine silver.

It will also present pottery by Brindavan Ceramica, makers of stoneware cups, bowls, platters, decorative objects and pots. All their ceramics are hand-crafted and are high-fired in a gas kiln. All participants are artists not normally found at Coast Hwy Traders.

Coast Hwy Traders has brought local art to Encinitas for 16 years and offers shopping “outside the box.” The store houses local artisans with handmade gifts, an array of exotic gifts from around the world, and the largest selection of Day of the Dead merchandise in San Diego.
