SAN MARCOS – The city of San Marcos Community Services Department will sponsor a Discover San Marcos Hike on Jan. 3. The hike will begin at 9 a.m., but participants can start signing in at 8:30 a.m.
This will be an easy, 4-mile hike on urban trails that will follow the rail trail, pass through the new Hollandia Park and explore the trails near Mulberry Park. All hikers should wear hiking shoes and bring water and trail snacks. An adult must accompany all minors. Dogs must be on a maximum 6-foot leash at all times.
Hikers should meet at the outdoor hearth at the San Marcos Community Center, located at 3 Civic Center Drive. Parking is available in the adjacent parking structure.
